Spicy Vodka Sauce

1: Heat olive oil in a pan over medium heat.

2: Chop one white onion and 1/2 package of bacon into small pieces; add to the pan.

3: Cook for 4-5 minutes or until onions start to brown; season with salt, pepper, and oregano.

4: Add 1 tube of tomato paste and 2 cloves of minced garlic; cook down in the pan for 7-8 minutes.

5: Deglaze with vodka and continue to cook; season with red pepper flakes.

6: Add 3/4 cup heavy cream and combine; cook over low heat for 5 minutes.

7: Drain pasta and save 1/3 cup pasta water; add pasta, 1/2 cup parmesan, and pasta water to sauce.

8: Stir until combined and top with parmesan, red pepper flakes, and basil.
